Overview
When there are multiple Nexus applications (at different companies), DICOS becomes an interfacing node where various NEXUS applications connect and can exchange information. Each NEXUS server can have its own DICOS server that will be accessed by other Nexus applications.
For example, a company using NEXUS as a management program can install DICOS if it has suppliers or customers who also use the NEXUS application. These latter users can, through their own NEXUS application, access certain information from the main company's NEXUS server (which hosts the DICOS server).
Using DICOS
The actions that can be performed (but are not limited to) through DICOS are:
- Viewing stocks (of cars, parts) and transferring orders. Each dealer, besides their own stocks, will be able to query or order from other available stocks (importer’s or others’).
- Vehicle history (once a repair contract is completed, its data is sent to a unique database that collects these data nationally). Any dealer can query this database when entering a VIN code.
- Automatic updating of dealer databases (catalogs, price lists, etc.).
- Electronic document transfer. For example, in the case of a parts order, the invoice issued by the importer will be sent electronically. This will be electronically processed, including creating a goods receipt note (NIR) at the dealer.
Both importer and dealer data are secured through the communication nodes interfacing in the Importer-Dealer network via specialized services for [transfer-processing-transfer] of data. In this way, the network databases are protected from unauthorized access.
