General presentation
When multiple Nexus Retail applications exist (across multiple companies), DICOS Retail acts as an interface node, allowing the different NEXUS Retail applications to connect and exchange information. Each NEXUS Retail server can have its own DICOS Retail server, which can be accessed by other Nexus Retail applications.
For example, a company using NEXUS Retail as its management software can install DICOS Retail if it has suppliers or customers also using the NEXUS Retail application. These suppliers or customers will be able, through their own NEXUS Retail application, to access certain information from the main company's NEXUS Retail server (which hosts the DICOS Retail server).
Using DICOS
Actions that can be performed (but are not limited to) through DICOS Retail include:
- Viewing stock and transferring orders. Each user, in addition to their own stock, can query or order from other available stock (either from the importer or other parties).
- Automatic modification of databases (catalogs, price lists, etc.).
- Electronic document transfer. For example, in the case of an order, the invoice issued by the importer will be sent electronically. It will, in turn, be processed electronically, including the creation of a receipt (NIR) at the dealer.
All data (from the importer/distributor/store) is ensured through the interface of communication nodes in the network, using specialized services for the protection of data [transfer-processing-transfer]. This ensures that network databases are protected from unauthorized access.
